An electrical fire set the oak floor of the living room of my grandparents’ home ablaze and in the process of cleaning, I discovered several layers of various linoleum flooring hidden beneath a wood floor. Which is odd. Typically Vinyl and Linoleum is adhered to the top of the subfloor not underneath it. I preserve the surface texture of the physical tiles I salvaged from the site by monoprinting them with a handmade oak wood char pigment I made.  All the scuffs, scratches and cracks are evidence of a life lived.

Concretions are commonly misunderstood geologic structures. Often mistaken for fossil eggs, turtle shells, or bones, they are actually not fossils at all but a common geologic phenomenon in almost all types of sedimentary rock, including sandstones, shales, siltstones, and limestones.
